Up until recently, the conventional wisdom has been that most parents buy low-end/old fashioned mobile phones for their children. Mainly because older phones are cheaper, especially on the pay as you go contracts that are often preferred for children.
But, I wonder, are things changing? There are some
amazing deals being offered by operators and phone shops on relatively modern 3G phones at the moment. Whilst the children might not be concerned about the cost of the device, the people that pay the bills certainly are. As more parents start to discover the deals that are on offer, I suspect that adoption of 3G phones by children is going to accelerate pretty fast.
